Chrome is an open source Internet browser by Google. It is, by far, the most used Internet browser in the world today. According to w3schools.com, on November 2016, Chrome had a browser usage of 73.8%! It’s also the most popular browser used on mobile devices, especially smartphones. Chrome’s success led Google to patent other products using the Chrome name, such as Chromebook and Chromecast.

Firefox is an open-sourced Internet browser by Mozilla. Originally named Phoenix, Firefox is considered by many to be the spiritual successor of Netscape, as the Mozilla Foundation was created by Netscape in 1998 before AOL acquired it. Firefox is a popular desktop browser, and is also used on mobile devices as well. Mozilla even developed its own mobile operating system, Firefox OS, which is based off the Linux kernel.
